: fold down rear seat trim plate
ccpeat Mar 24th, 09, 06:36 PM Could someone please post a picture of the drivers side fold down rear seat bumper and trim plate installed. On the web sites for places that have the trim plates for sale, some of them say it is for the drivers side bumper, others say it is for the latch. A photo would really help clear it up. Thanks!
wagonman Mar 24th, 09, 08:35 PM 67 has a bumper

ccpeat Mar 25th, 09, 06:56 AM Thanks, but what I really need is to see is what goes behind the bumper on the driver's side.

ccpeat Mar 25th, 09, 08:22 AM That's it! Does anything go behind the trim plate? I ask because the bumper is not as thick as the one on the other side. It either has something behind it to move it out, or it strikes the rear seat frame on the carpet trim that sticks out a little. While I'm at it, here is another question. Was the carpet in a vehicle with a fold down rear seat the same? I can see the floor between the seat bottom and back when the back is folded down, which leads me to think that the carpet should extend all the way to the rear seat back.

I ask because the bumper is not as thick as the one on the other side. That's correct. The round bumper on the passenger's side is very thick. Too thick!! When they're new, it's hard to get the latch latched!!
Was the carpet in a vehicle with a fold down rear seat the same? I'm not sure what you mean as "the same". The same as the floor carpeting?
I can see the floor between the seat bottom and back when the back is folded down, which leads me to think that the carpet should extend all the way to the rear seat back. Nope. You SHOULD be able to see the floor when the seat is pulled down. As a matter of fact, it's a bad design because you end up loosing things in that crack!!

ccpeat Mar 25th, 09, 04:11 PM The repro carpet I have ends under the front edge of the bottom seat and does not go all the way to the "crack". So I can see the dynamat that I installed on the floor pan. I guess I could always paint the dynamat, or mold some black carpet to cover it up.
yellow69RS Mar 25th, 09, 07:38 PM Just the cardboard partition.
EdThe cardboard partion is cut out on a 69, appears to be the same in Ed's pic. The deep prtion of the plastic sits directly on the metal.

Correct. The trim kind of sits in the cut out of the cardboard.
