A friend just picked up a used old Holley double pumper and we are looking for some help identifying it. The choke horn is milled off the main body so there's no list number to look up. Here's the only real clue I have, it's a spread bore with tiny little primaries and huge secondaries, yes it's a double pumper and has a 50cc accl pump on the sec side. Though it's in nice shape it looks very old. The linkage isn't chevy so maybe something for a ford or mopar, I don't know. Any help is appreciated thanks,

I don't believe that style carb came stock on anything, but in the aftermarket they made a 650 cfm and an 800 cfm version. Many were universal application so they would have the universal style Holley linkage. I used to run the 650 version (List 6210) on several cars. I thought they worked very well.

Sometimes Holley stamped (or printed) the list # on the metering block(s).

Its definitely a LIST 6210. Very nice carb when tuned. Or could be a 4175, nice paperweight. But a 4175 looked like a Q-jet with the fuel bowl in the center of the body, between the barrels.

Thanks for the pic, Don. At least the fuel inlet is in the center, as a Q-jet.

Thanks guys, it's got 2 fuel inlets so my money says 6210 or 6211. Now looking at the holley chart ( http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/CarbList.pdf ) I'll have to tale a look at the sec venturi dia. The 850 it's 1 23/32 and the 650 is 1 3/8 which equates to 1 12/32.

Unless I amy completely brain dead I think the 6210 and 11 were both direct replacements for a Q-jet. Single inlet in the front like a Q-jet. The 4175 is the name of the series of vac. sec. spread bore carbs. I do seem to remember a race version of the spread bore that had dual inlets but the number eludes me.

Dennis, Maybe I'm the one that's losing his mind, because I thought the List 6210 and 6211 were 4175 series carbs.

I found this from Summit:

HLY-0-6210
"Designed as a bolt-on replacement for GM's venerable Quadrajet, Holley's Model 4175 carburetors utilize a front-mounted fuel bowl fitting, allowing you to reuse the stock fuel line. Other features include your choice of vacuum or mechanical secondaries, an accelerator pump, power valve blowout protection, a spread bore flange, and a choke. They're available in your choice of universal calibration or direct fit replacement versions, with all necessary emission hookups for 50-state emissions legality."

When the 6210 and 6211 first came out they were known as 4165 series carbs. Later when the 7002 vac. sec. series carbs came out they were called 4175s. Either they combined the two or Summit has made a mistake in their catalog.

Dennis,

I'm thinkin bout putting the ragtop back towards stock appearance under the hood, and that spread bore would sit pretty on the stock manifold...

Are the throttle shafts still tight? and do you wanna sell it?

Hope I don't make Dennis mad but a Q-jet is so far superior to the replacements it's not even funny.

Mike you couldn't make me mad if you tried... graemlins/beers.gif That's not a challange now, ok? You'll never hear me speak bad of the Q-jet, the simplicity of 3 circuits is a plus but a Holley isn't a bad carb just because folks don't understand all the circuits it's comprised of.

Jim as stated above "A friend just picked up a used old Holley...". Sorry it's not mine and doubt it's for sale.
