i have a project i'm working on. i'm currently swapping out my 305 in my 1987 camaro for a tuned 350. i'm in the process of changing out the timing gear and cam. i still ain't sure which i'm going with yet, but i want to put the 305 heads on to increase the quench. and was wondering what the best combo would be to allow this. but i'm also looking for 100 hp increase minimum. any and all help would be apprieciated.

This would most likely get a faster response in the engine section.

I believe the 305 heads will physically bolt to the 350 block, but this is not a good idea. The 305 heads are very poor performers and the chamber size will yield a compression ratio that is inadequate for street use. Use heads made for the 350. If you dont get too crazy with your cam, you can use stock vortec heads, which are good for an additional 30hp+/-. There are other changes you'd have to make to have this work though. Do a search on this site, there's been plenty written on here to help you decide if vortec heads are appropriate for your budget.
