In long process of camaro shell build-up to pro tour-g machine. (this make two now)

Already commited to art morrison G-sub frame (hanging in garage) getting ready to DES mini tub it next week. Next order will be to determine rear end width / 4link combo. I dont want to lock myself out of a wheel size tire set that will limit its performance.

What wheel tire combination should be considered for max performance autocross/road race. its all about sticking it hard in corners. It will be LSx powered at no less the 400hp some day!

Joe, for road racing, if you can get P245/50/ZR16 all the way around (what the 5.7L IROC-Z used) or P275/40/ZR17 (what the Corvette's used in the very late 1980's into the 1990's) go for it!

Since you are mini tubbing it you'll have more room for a wider tire in the back and there's a guy on this site (I forget who) which I think runs P275/40/17 all the way around his Camaro with mini-tubs and a different sub frame along with tubular A-Arms.

As far as the wheels if you are going to road race it and avoid the potholes of the streets in the Midwest I would go with a lightweight wheel. Personally I love the Torq Thrust as it gives it the period correct look along with the Rally's but any good looking wheel from Weld, American Racing and others will work. It's been 11 years since I mounted & balanced tires so my experience in today's world is limited at best to what I remember from over a decade ago rather than what I did today.

Anyone know if Progressive Wheels is out of business? I haven't heard much from them this decade.
