If i pulled a 400 pontiac motor out of a 68 firebird and put a olds 350 rocket motor in its place would it all bolt up right? the 400 is not numbers matching and is wore out. And i found a super deal on a 350 olds rocket motor.
thanks guys

I believe it's BOP or Buick, Olds and Pontiac. I don't know what year it was but at some point GM snuck the same 350 chevy into all the brands. If it's truly an Olds engine it should bolt into your bird...

so the headers and motor mounts would all work?

Headers and exhaust manifolds are different and you probably need to use motor mounts from the olds 350 then modify the mounting position of the frame towers using the bird towers if the mounts fit them.

Not sure the "screamin" deal on the rocket would offset the work required to make it work. The Olds will bolt to the Pontiac bell housing, but I doubt the exhaust pipes will fit or the frame mounts. Can't remember the alt location might be OK there and I'm pretty sure the starters are on the same side so battery cable will work. Might have to get creative with the radiator hoses too

The frame mounts will probably work with the Oldsmobile. Use the Olds engine mounts. The engine will bolt to the trans with no problem. The exhaust manifolds are different.
