Just curious if everyone thinks I can break into the 12 second quarter mile range or not. Here is my setup

327 Block bored .030 over
Stock remachined rods
9.1:1 Pistons
Stock crank
Comp XE268 cam
World Products Sportsman II heads
Comp matching valve train with 1.6:1 long slot rockers
Dynomax Ceramic coated heads
All poly bushings
Hotchkis springs, front and rear
3.73 posi rear end
700R4 tranny w/2200 rpm high perf. converter
Stock interior, A/C, and some added weight from the stereo.

Will it hit 12.99 at the track?

High to mid 13's with street tires and mid to low 13's with something that bites... Are you going to the track soon?

It will probably be later than sooner. I am getting ready to do the rear end, gears, posi, springs front and rear, solid subframe bushings, S/F connecters, and just finished installing the Holley Street Avenger 670cfm carb. I will probably take it to the track one time after all that just to see what I can get it to run. Hopefully I can borrow a set of slicks to run it with, as my low profile 17 inchers probably won;t hook very well. I was just curious to see if people thought I could get it into the 12's, as that has always been my goal.

I would guess the 268 cam in a 327 might want more converter, maybe 3K to really get you quickly through the first 60 feet, especially if you're shooting for 12's. You mentioned 9.1:1 Pistons, is it still 9.1:1 with the rest of your combo?

Yes, I should have just said 9:1 compression. The car is a street/show cruiser, so I think the 3000 stall is kind of out of the question. I had a buddy with a 3000 stall in his mushtang with a 393 stroker motor. It was horrible for everyday driving.

I have a 327 with 11 to 1s, 492 heads and a 292 magnum cam.It has a 4000 stall,turbo 400
and 488 spool out back. It has run 12.69 at 107. I would say you need more gear to get into the 12s.

Mid-high 13's IMO, depends on how well you can hook. I would love to see you run a 12.9 and prove me wrong though http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif

N2O is a wonderful thing. And sticky's WILL be req'd. to get near the 12's with your gear.

You say with my gear, a 3.73 gear with my 700r4 is about like a t-350 or 400 with 4.88 gear set. I thought the 3.73 would be the absolute best choice for the track and a relatively stock rear suspension because everyone I have talked to had said, if you put anyting higher than 3.55's in the rear, it will NEVER hook in first gear without many modifications. The car is mostly a show car, as I said, but will probably spend one day at the track just to see what it will run.
