I bought a replacement rag joint for my '69 from Rick's. The page says that it's a GM rag joint. I didn't see any GM markings on it or the box. How can I be sure it's a real one, and not a knock-off? Thanks.

ps - it looks different than the original one in my car (yes, it appears original with the ground wire, and it's really really old looking. The new one does not have the ground wire and the rubber material appears to be different)

It's very acceptable.
I have the same one. It was recommended by folks here and at Ricks because of it's quality and improvements over the original style. The rubber insulator has a steel mesh inside it, and the bracket acts as the ground wire.
I had no problem installing it and it seems like a good quality piece.

That's good to know that it's a decent piece. I've got the column out now, and only want to do this job once :)
