After reading many threads on dash pad removal on a 67. I left mine in the car and painted with vinyl dye. Here are some pics on the process.
Template to mach curvature of glass,cut to fit

Put a car cover on the car opened the windows, covered all interior with sheets, and used a painter’s respirator mask. Before painting.

Wow...nice job. Did you have any over spray issues?

No overspray issues. I had everything covered there was some red dust on the sheets. One good thing this paint is very heavy and dry fast.

Nice job ! Can you tell us paint color and manufacturer ? I'll be doing this to mine (same color) sometime next year and could use the info ..

Paint =color coat (SEM) portola red #15363

I love this stuff never thought I would be able to blend it into 40 year old vinyl. I used it on the side of the seats blended to original vinyl and the top of the rear seat and the tray behind the rear seat.
