Hi for 1969 camaros with dual exhaust get the rectangular plate welded on Drivers side of frame. Do all 1969 camaros get the same plate welded on the passenger side?

No plate at all on the passenger side, no matter what engine package or exhaust ordered. That side was engineered for either single or dual exhaust, the driver's side needed the 'help' of that plate for dual exhaust applications. :)

Not exactly true. The same plate is inside the RH frame rail on coupes.

I just learned that on one of the sites recently. Someone was installing a new trunk floor on a '69 and there it was.

34 years of these things, still learning!

Lets have Kurt edit that section of CRG and make mention that BOTH frame rails have that plate in 69 if it has dual exhaust. If in fact that is what was meant. It only mentions the drivers side plate when talking about SS but it should read the 'plate is standard on the passenger side' no matter what exhaust was ordered. Or something like that.
Kurt? Does that sound like something you can edit?

Inside inside, as inside the frame rail where it is not visible.

I dont know why you want to mention that as all cars had the plate inside the frame rail regardless on the Pass side. You cant see it from the outside in most normal conditions.
The only thing relevant, IMO, is the drivers side plate which indicated dual exhaust. JMO.

Handy to know if you ever need one.

BTW the plate is easy to remove and install on a car not originally equipped with one.

wow so the plate is welded inside the frame rail on the pass side? wish i asked that a LONG time ago..makes it a little tough to add one now that trunk floor and new repo frame rails are on car...Too bad i tosssed the old original rails already i would of loved to have seen that. I will need to check my other origianl 69 ss carefully next time i have wheel off i would guess you can see that the "frame" is thicker where the hanger holes are threaded.
So no "external" plate on pass side ever.
Thanks Everyone!

Here's a great photo of it from one of my cars.

The plate is in the repo RH passenger frame rails FWIW. (at least on the rails I have installed before)

Does that explain the two notches on the reinforcement plate? does it need to clearance something inside the frame rail?

The notches were to orient the plate correctly in the feed chute in the welding fixture for the passenger side rear rail subassembly.

Has anyone noted original plates welded to the outside of the drivers frame rail without notches?

Yep, seen that before. Long time ago there was a discussion here about it, but don't remember the details.
