Is there any difference in a 67-69 rear end 12 bolt cover and backing plates?

I would gamble and say no!!!!!!!

Not 67-69 on the cover but for '70 it was notched for a brake distribution block bracket. That was how GM serviced it for many years so be wary of "NOS" covers.

Anything about backing plates?

Also, do they make replacement backing plate brackets (the large 1/2 moon edge that is spot welded to the bottom half of edge of the backing plate) . Mine is bent and would like to either get mint backing plates or i can replace this piece.

I had a machine shop make the half moon sections then welded them on the original backing plates after seeing the GM replacement part! The new part didn't have the half moon and several things were found different.
