I'm ready to buy new emblems for my Z and I'm concerned with the quality of repro emblems. How do the holes line up? Who has the best quality? Who has the best price? I read on here, that some of repro emblems stems didn't line up with the original holes.

Trim Parts is the way to go. They aren't cheap, but they're really nice.

CHQ trim is nice also.

The holes are close, but some filing of the holes is required.

Have never had to modify any of the holes using the quality repo trim, on quite a few cars.

Only issue that I can recall was with a "Super Sport" 1/4 emblem on a 67 Nova. Original quarter, GM emblem. Didnt fit quite right, go figure...

The old repro front fender "Z/28" wasn't curved enough to fit tight against the fender. I tried to tweak it and ended up breaking it in half I ended up buying a NOS pair. The holes matched good. This car I went all NOS.

TP doesn't offer full kits, as I don't think they make all the emblems.

All the trim/emblems are not made by the same company. The "show quality", designated with an "S" in the pn from Rick's, is Trim Parts. Those with an "R" are likely either CHQ or OER (I prefer CHQ over OER in most all cases).

As an example, the front grille Z28 emblem from Rick's:

EM-12R 32.99
EM-12S 69.99

Same emblem is 68.80 from TP.

So if the price is half as much compared to TP, it's not their part.

Thanks for the info Dave. I'm just learning about the quality of the parts and prices. I think I will check my originals out. I wasn't planning to spend that much on trim parts.
