Installing a CE sump on a repro tank. Anyone have pics or experience? I am planning on running 1/2 inch supply and return. Hard line and braided line or just braided? Where do I mount the electric pump? I plan on ordering a BG 220 HR.

Thanks
Brett

I had a sump brazed in and use hard 1/2 alum line to the firewall, then braided -8 (or -10 can't remember) to a regulator mounted on the card. Works very well, and the alum line is easy to work in place. looks clean and much cheaper than braided all the way forward.

I made a bracket for the fuel pump and inline filter that mounts on the tank straps in front of the tank. As Bad67355 points out, this is a great place to mount as there is plenty of room and it is still very low. Low helps yor fuel pump work less and extend its life.

Yep, me too. Here ya go,,,
New tank, CE sump

Sheet metal mount captured by straps

Then start over and move the regulator to the engine.
(only way to purge air)

And the fuel return is now at the top of the tank to reduce turbulence in the sump.

thanks

This is what i used. It has baffles inside the sump to keep the fuel where it needs to be. He installed a return with tube that carries the return line away from the sump for my efi application also. Very nice work from Glenn!

Nice tank from Glenns. Should have bought that one. The repro tank came shipped to me with a dent. Still dealing with damages department (playing phone tag since last week).

Thanks
Brett

Brett, I used the old supply pipe from the factory outlet. The idea was to keep returning fuel from out of the sump. (just in case) (less chance of heating too)

I installed a CE sump years back. I believe it has two 3/8 NPT tapped holes. I used some stainless compression fittings along with aluminum line, fuel pump in front of tank like guys above. You can route aluminum along same route as original factory line with new clamps. Spend a few bucks on a bender, makes it look a lot nicer.

I just installed one on my tank as well. I purchased a new repo tank for the job. Did you guys use a tank sealer, such as POR15? I've heard the sealer can come off over time.

Thanks !!!!!!!!!!! A
