Would this ball joint due instead of the G-mod. It is relatively cheap compared to the Howe pieces. Any thoughts? I'd rather install these instead of driling and grinding.

I'm not sure if that upper joint will fit the Camaro upper control arm. It looks like one from a truck that I was investigating. I asked AFAB about their version that I found at Summit and got this response:

Mat, Yes the 20032-1 is taller then a stock Camaro upper ball joint. However it will not bolt into the stock pattern. We do have a ball joint for the stock pattern that is taller. It is part number 20032-2LF, it is due in here the middle of April. It is a new part for us.
Thanks

that balljoint will do nothing to help you get more caster.

Right, but I care more about rasing our old car's terribly low front roll center than caster!!

I can fix a buncha stuff w/ JimM's two turn-buckle upper A-arms.

I looked at the K6136 ball joint at Auto Zone today. It fits a truck and not a 1st gen Camaro. If you really need a bunch of caster you can get some more using offset shafts. I truely don't believe most of us need that much caster.

Unfortunately... Look at the picture of the Howe joint on the left sife of that page...
The difference is obvious if youi look closely.

With the cheap one, the body of the joint is deeper, not the shaft.
The suspension pivots stay in the same place.
