I'm looking for a set of kick panels without the vents. I see people sell ones with just 4x6 speakers also. I'm looking for just a blank kick panel with no vent or speaker. Someones gotta make one, I just can't find it..... Or my other option is if anyone has a standard set they want to sell cheap thats in decent shape.

These are the standard covers. I'm looking for BLANK covers with no vents. Here's is what you listed. There a dime a dozen..

I orderd the ones with speakers (from Classic Ind.) and returned them after I opened the box. Too cheap looking for me and the speaker covers have already come off while in the box.

I would like the stock ones. The problem is I want for a easy install. I don't want to buy new ones for 2 bills and cut up the vent to fit. I know I'll hear "They will fit with some work". Problems is, I have 2 layers of sound proofing plus padding under a new rug. To add to that all my wires for my batt and acc run to the back behind the kick panel. It's almost impossible to get to vents in. If I got some good used ones I wouldn't feel too bad cutting them up.

You can get creative...
My friend bought some rough used ones off ebay cheap, cut out the lever and ground the front smooth. Then took some thin flashing liked used to make home heating/ac duvt work, and cut to cover the front of the panel and then body panel adehessived the 2 together. Then wrapped the part in thin vynil.

Took some effort but looks cool, theres no opening down there at all on the kick panels.

I think if I was going to do all that I would just cut me a piece of thin metal to the kick panel shape and painted/covered it and use some thin corner molding to cover the edge alongthe door sill.

Order a drivers side for an air conditioning car, they are totally blank, but you will need the metal plate that goes behind it to block off the actual vent duct, or they may blow off (at least bend outwards) on the highway. There is no option for the passenger side that is completely blank though, so you will have to make your own.

Early production 69s (up to about Feb of 69) have 2 peice kick panels where the grille piece is actually separate from the rest of the kick panel, you can replace the grille section with a solid blank section (that you would have to makeup yourself) that could be made to match the texture of the rest of the panel.

I would suggest using a block off plate as the Driver's side uses. You can paint it black and just trim the "tube" portion off the kick panel vent.If you want glue black fabric on the back of the panel to prevent seeing behind the louvers. You won't have trouble installing them then.I am installing speakers in mine right now by doing the same thing except the speakers are mounted in the block off plate.I trimmed the kick panel tube off with a body saw.It takes 5 minutes or so.Then you can remove and plug the pull handle .I didn't like the look of the factory speaker locations either.I am installing a Vintage air unit and was concerned with trying fighting the kick panels in.BTW someone has done this already on this board and had the two piece kick panel grill as desribed if you do a search for it.It has some decent pics of the install and modifications. Here is the thread, see post #12 for pics and instructions. Great concept.

I called Paddock about these. Trying to figure out how the vent connects if at all. I can't tell by the pic. The sales rep is calling the maker and said he would call back with details. http://www.paddockparts.com/Paddock/assets/product_images/KPS678CP.JPG

I called firewheelclassics.com because they have the exact looking kick panels as the one I called Paddock on. While on the phone they opened the box and looked at it. There is a vent opening on the kick panel but it's narrow and is "always open". I'm a very new owner of my first 1st gen so I don't understand this. If the vent is always open does outside air always flow in?
