Tachometer does not work. Any suggestions?

Either tach wire is unplugged at dist, its labelled "TACH", loose wire connection elsewhere, or tach itself is bad.

Try an aftermarket tach and jumper it into place to see if dist is good.

Another possibility is a bad connection in the cluster. The instruments plug into clips on third gens. They oxidize over time. You might want to pull the cluster and lightly sand the contacts behind the tach and the main connector (600 grit is good). Good time to check all the bulbs too. Watch for the two 10mm nuts on the bottom. It's easier to drop the column (two nuts) to give you a little more room to release the speed cable (clip).
