Does the 67 standard seats have a date code somewhere on them? As if to determine
if they are 67 or 68 standard seats? I know they are suppose to be the same, but is it possible to determine which year they are for? I know that door panels had a date on them.

Thanks

There will be a tag sewn on the male seatbelt straps< the last numbers on the code (example ak68) are the year that the belts were made. It will also have the words irvan, hamill, or robbins on them, i believe that this is the company name that made them.

Thanks Ben, but thats for the seat belts? I have a set of 67 or 68 front bucket seats, and wonder which year that they are. Is there anywhere on the bottom section, seat material,
were a date code could be found? I know the seat belts have the date codes, and some door panels, plus guages have stickers, but I dont remember finding any info. on seats.

M-

I figured I would respond here instead of PM, just in case it might help someone else down the line.

Remove one or both headrests, and near the bottom of the flat, chromed bar there should be a date stamped into them.

Give this CRG report a read too: http://www.camaros.org/headrest.shtml

Looking at the ebay pics again against the ones in the CRG report, they don't look like 67 headrests. Maybe 68 if lucky, or just 69 with 67-68 upholstery.

Not sure about date codes but I do know early 67's had metal backs up until a mid April build date.. So if they have metal backs they are from a 67. If they have plastic backs they could be late 67 or 68.

Well, there not 69s. They only have two catches. I tried pulling the headrests out, but
cant get the spring to release. They are not 67s, they are two wide and not narrow and tall. So, the next big question. What are 68 headrest seats worth? 67s? How rare are the 68 headrest seats?

Thanks

Update, I finally got some time to try and get the headrests removed. I did get the drivers h/r out, and it does have three holes. So, there 68 standard headrest seats. Any one have an idea of how much they are worth?

Thank you for all replies, on finding the date of the seats!
