Just looking through the Z's and this tag looked a little odd. Any experts shed some light on it?...

The 711 is a standard black interior so the seat covers have been changed to houndstooth.

Broken shifter boot, two U-bolts per side, and dust on the subframe.

Other than what is listed, damn nice car!

I believe that's an original trim tag.

Yeah, it is 'odd' that they didn't swap it for a 'repop' to get one with a 713 Black Houndstooth Custom Cloth Interior...

Barret Jackson... What else is wrong?

GM "Mark of Excellence" stickers on doors...
(the "CAUTION FAN" sticker must be on the bottom of shroud :D )
Typical 'Marker Crayons Gone Wild' restoration...

It is a nice looking car - looks like it will make a new owner pretty happy

For future search;

Is the O and R in NOR touching each other, or is it a funny camera angle?

12B was a transition week for X codes, someone with a large data base and a few good examples of 12B tags want to comment?

actually it looks like there is a dent right in that area which might be what is makeing it look that close...

Not a funny angle. Tag is real and coincides with the VIn of the car.
Not to say the tag was not off this car at some time.

When I was in the USAF, one of my students (a SSgt) ordered/bought one exactly like this one to replace the '66 Mustang HT (Shelby-ized) race car he sold to another friend.. Makes me wonder if this one could be his .... :)

repo console guages, repo rosewood wheel, wrong leaf springs, rubber strips on gas tank straps don't belong, door latches and screws should be painted, shifter looks too high, bottom of car is all black including floor plugs, looks like Chinese repo chromed trim rings, cowl seal is missing, what are those three holes in the door ?

Man...you guys can shoot holes out of any of these cars huh. Looked fine at first with somethings standing out but I missed quite a few.

We haven't even started on the "obvious" stuff - like the Space-Saver and 'long' spoiler yet ;)

I wasn't trying to bash the car but pointing out alot of stuff that is wrong. There is a ass for every seat. Just don't pay a restored price for a car that might look restored but really isn't done that well.

Quote from the auction:

The very high dollar meticulous restoration was done by a Camaro expert in the Mid West. John acquired this car at a Barrett-Jackson auction where it has been proudly on display in his Cars Of Dreams Museum.

I feel better already, don't you?

Holes in the door are for the weatherstrip delete option on the meticulous resto :-)

The 3 holes in the door could have been for door edge guards possibly. I have seen the 68-69 GTO's with guards that had 3 tangs attached to them that used screws to hold the guards to the doors. I don't have any experience with the door edge guards on a Camaro other than my 69 Z and those just push on the door edges.

Anyone else?
