I'm looking at trying out the 3" Magnaflow system and wonder who has compared the sound and ground clearance of this system versus the Pypes or even Flowmaster system. I want the loudest, although the Flowmaster American Thunder(or whatever it's called) almost vibrated my rear window out of my A-body chevelle and it hangs way too low. I like the pypes X pipe and the sound is mellow and the system isn't as low. My car is dropped 2" so there's a compromise between sound and scraping the asphalt.

I know the Magnaflow is the most expensive, but is the money worth it?

Thanks,

Mike

I have a 68 camaro with 427bbc with hooker super comps. I used to have flowmaster exhaust with 60 series muffler.. I have just recently switched to magnaflow 3" stainless with an "X" pipe and I love it. The flowmaster system wasn't a true dual exhaust like the magnaflow is. I know that the magnaflow is much more expensive than the other systems, however its 100% stainless (pipes, mufflers, hangers, bolts, etc... are all stainless.) In my opinion, you won't find a better exhaust system than magnaflow, plus it will last forever.

I have had so many compliments on the awesome sound my Camaro makes. Plus, the magnaflow system is much louder than the flowmaster system that I had. :D

Thanks Mike for the reply. I didn't think I'd get any because of the exhaust thread that's been referred to. However, as I searched, I didn't think I read any about comparison between the different manufacturers as far as ground clearance. If you have Hooker's, then it has to be better than the Flowmaster system. On my chevelle, you can see the pipes from the side and it looks horrible(and it's installed correctly).

Sincerely,

Mike
