What's the bore at ? In my opinion value on blocks depends alot on how much life it's got left. If it's at .060 and has a worn bore it would make a cool coffee table... :beers: Having the VIN on it dosn't mean much unless the guy with that car is out there somewhere. If he is that changes everything..

I have noticed other posts like this hiding the complete vin. Post the complete partial vin up and see if someone has the car. I reunited a 68 395/350 block with the original car and it was a very enjoyable experience.

Post the info. on the CRG site in the Orhans section. The section is dedicated to reuniting driveline components.

I have posted this on CRG . If you think this is your block why dont you forward your complete VIN, then I can tell you if it belongs to your car.I guess its my option to post the Vin or not.If I post all the info on this block the owner to the car could copy the info and stamp his own block. All I asked for is what is a fair price for this block.

Had a co-worker pick up a 396 "high performance truck block ?" for his 68 Camaro.... $300 intake to pan, needing rebuilt. Unknown bore as of this past Friday.

UMM if the owner was gonna re-stamp a vin I believe he already has the correct vin..so that dont hold water.alot of guys here have there own databases that could steer you in the right direction on the owner but if you wish to do it your way good luck. worth... to just anyone a few hundred bucks ..put it with the real owners hands priceless

All I asked for is what is a fair price for this block. Nice attitude... Put it on Ebay and keep the VIN a big secret and take whatever you can get.... Anybody who plans on counterfieting a block to match his car already knows what his VIN is and can look at hundreds of pictures of correct stampings for reference. Your argument makes no sense but as you said, it is your option not to post the info. Of course anyone willing to spend real money for your block is going to want to see pics of the VIN stamping as well as the other numbers to make sure YOU didn't restamp it yourself. Just my opinion, but it's much more likely for someone with a block such as yours to make it match to order by stamping it AFTER someone posts that they are looking for a particular VIN. Not saying you would do that but I'd bet that if I posted on a major website that I was looking for a particular VIN number block I'd get several responses from people who ALL claim to have it, all for big bucks of course.... I know of one machine shop who does alot of work for Corvette guys who even has faked casting dates & that type of thing and welded them onto other blocks and it's very hard to tell it was ever done. You also posted part of the VIN on CRG complete with those silly XXs and were asked there to post the complete VIN as well. Did you happen to notice that you're the only one on that site who did that ? You're just wasting everyones time with this fishing trip... I think you're just hoping someone will come along and tell you it's worth 5k or something. Ok that's cool too. It's worth 5k... Good luck with your sale. :beers:
