I bought a front spoiler for my 68. I bought the $90 braceless one from NPD...they said it was a bit stiffer than the $30 one.
I put it on last night and it looks like it points almost straight done...not titled toward the front like others I've seen.
Did I do something wrong, or is that just how the 68's look?
I installed it with 5 screws. The bolt in the middle and then about 12" apart on each side, the sheet metal screws that NPD sent with the kit. Do I need more screws to hold it in place? I'll be taking it to Sebring this weekend, so I should see speeds up to 120mph.

Hmm...that is weird. I'm pretty sure I got same "braceless" chin spoiler for my car (it's an OER brand) and it definitely tilts forward. It can't really tilt any other way if the top of it is pulled up tight to the valance?
Can you post a pic maybe?
Pic's from the AIM showing how the '68 spoiler is attached.

Thanks for the link to the assembly manual. That's almost exactly how I did mine. I have two screws instead of three on the driver side, but I can always add one more.
It's mouted to the end flange and pulled snug. I'll post a picture tonight.

Here are pictures. I expected the spoiler to be tilted a bit more. Is that only on a 69?

Mine looks like the second link in the post Dennis put up. The outer lower edges of mine come to more of a point than yours and it tilts forward like the one in the pic.
Yours look like the edges are smooth and you're right, it does look like it doesn't tilt very much. Maybe you have one of the spoilers mentioned in the other link? I dunno, I'm going to have to bail out of this thread because I can't help. I don't think yours looks bad though. Issue of opinion I guess. Good luck with it. Brian
I think because of the price most folks run the '69 style spoiler and we get use to seeing it and not the '68 style spoiler so when we do see one it doesn't look correct.
