My old-school buddies with their cracked 20+ yr old Radial T/A's are asking....
Looking for something reasonably priced, not Coker re-popped T/A's.

Any suggestions are welcome...looking for 265 & 275/50's in particular.;)

I looked for something similar for a while, the radial TA's have some 15" sizes as do the new MT Sportsman S/T's, but other than sizes I couldn't find much info on them.

275/50/R15 BFGs on the rears on the street. They were tough to get at the time (about 4 years ago), haven't tried to buy any since. I think they're only rated for 114mph or so, but they won't come apart at 150 (allegedly :D )

I have a pair of BFG 265/50/15 tires I want to get rid of. I bought them back in late '03 and only put a few hundred miles on them. They've just been sitting in the garage.

Nope,certain:yes:...we're talking old-school here.
Everyone I know locally still run 265/50-15's,275/50-15's and 295/50-15's...on 7" wide wheels...old-school buldge,lol.;)
I just sold my old 15x7" AR 200S wheels to a buddy along with 265 & 275/50-15's and now everyone is looking for replacements.

Here's some examples,this is a 265/50 & 295/50 combo w/AR 200S wheels on the Blue Boss 302:

I've got some D.O.T legal BFG R1's brand new in a 265-50-15. No white letters and sticky. I have 4 of them to sell pretty cheap. Probably not what those guys want though.

I checked and Mickey Thompson makes the Sportsman S/R ($186) but the smallest size is 26.00x10-15 which I'll assume is close to a 295/50-15 but no smaller sizes for the fronts.Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 is only offered in a 295/50-15 ($119)...the only 50-series size they offer so again...no fronts!:noway:

I heard Cooper has better selection but I'm beginning to wonder if we're just outta luck.

we have 295/50/15 on my mother's chevelle. there is no way a 295 will fit under a stock camaro. not sure if the 275 will fit. my 265/60/15 rub. my rearend is 61 1/2 inches wide also, so that might have something to do with it.

Strange...but I have 3 friends locally that run that combo on theirs...on 7" wide wheels no less.
Completely stock fenderwells with no tubbing.

That pic reminds me of my 68 Firebird in the mid 80's.
I still like the old school look and if i can find them I just might throw a set of N-50-15's on my 67 just for old times.:D

i have indys and use a 235 60 15 up front with 295 50 15 in rears and they work fine together?? these are miss matched on the car but those sizes and i just got all four new firehawks in these sizes from the tirerack to replace these.

Mickey Thompson just released a new line of street radials, http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/street.php?item=SportsmanST but the smallest 50 series they show is a 295-50-15. I read that they plan on releasing more sizes, try emailing them and see what kind of response you get.

not calling you out, but i would like to see those camaro's with 295 tires under them. a rear shot would be great. dse mini tubs are only recommended to a 315 tire size.

by the way, i had air shocks on my first 68 camaro back in 1988. it had 31 by 15.50 mickey thompson tires. they stood out of the fender well by 4 inches but they fit. now thats real old school for ya. lol

i'm talking about inside the fenderwell .

No problem, let me see what I have on file.I will have to take better pics from the rear though,I don't think I have those.
These aren't jacked-up cars guys, this is the vintage T/A look and we're just keeping the dream alive.:yes

I just called my buddy, these are 245/50 fronts & 265/50 rears but he has run 275/50 rears and it does sit low:
http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p3/topfueljohn/DSC01377.jpg

These are my old 200S wheels,7" wide all around with a 265/50 275/50 combo:
http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p3/topfueljohn/DSC06712.jpg

This seems to be the only pic I have of this first Yellow car and does us no good.
He runs 7" wide wheels with a 265/50 295/50 combo.I will attempt to see if I have others on file but if not,he literally lives about 1.5 miles from me so I'm sure I can snap a few...

dam those are some nice looking cars.

i'll check my car's rear fender wells tomorrow. according to the tire rack tire conversion chart a 295 tire is 11.6 inches wide. sidewall to sidewall. i'm going to sick a tape measure inside the fenderwell and get the measurement from inner fenderwell to inside lip of the outside fenderwell. i don't think i have 11.6 inches, but i will check and see. i love wide tires on cars, and i want the widest rear tire i can get with out rubbing or tubbing.

Fwiw, my old L-60/14's, still mounted on my Fenton 14" x 9" slotted mags, measure a modern, 298/53/14! (26.5" tall x 11.75" section width if I remember right?? It's been years).. They went w/ my old E-60/14's up front on 14" x 7" slotted mags.

I had to install shock, coil-over, overload springs and raised her up some to keep the wheel well chrome lips from cutting the corner rolls.

I really want to be able to mount a 26.5" tall 11.75" section width 17" tire along w/ the equivalent to the E-60/14 in 17's but don't know if I can?? On 9"s and 7's....

I run 275/50/15's MT DR's on mine with 15x8's 4.5" bs. The rear is lowered 3" as well. I do have the wheel lips trimmed up a bit. Looks tough...

If you get stuck in the rain running those M/T radials, is traction going to be a major problem?

They have the rear size I want. The front is a bit different, but I might be able to get it to work.

I like to drive my car and not have to worry if it's going to rain.
