Can someone help me decode this rearend that is supposed to be out of a #'s matching Z

Rearend: 3894860NF

Is NF a proper suffix?

The 3894860 rear is the correct casting number. Not sure what "NF" actually means, but its a correct 67-69 Camaro 12 bolt rear. Got axle codes?

"NF" stands for Pearlitic Nodular Iron.

I think it stands for Nodular Ferrous.

Wouldn't that mean it 'doesn't' have any "ferrous" (iron compound) in it :D
Try sticking a magnet on it - if it doesn't stick it is non-ferrous :thumbsup:
