First off let me say I'm diggin' the site... But back to basics I need some questions answered...Sorry if I end up typing a novel, but... My father has two 68 Camaro's which he is willing to let me work on with some conditions... But I was wondering I have a 68 with a 327/Auto Tranny/Vinyl top. The roof is completely rotted because of the crappy vinyl top, and its not in great shape... He just bought a second (68) which appears to be in better shape, as in, no rotted roof. It may be hiding a couple secrets too, but the bondo is doing a good job hiding... I want to work on the second one and throw the drivetrain in that. My father on the other hand wants to keep the numbers on the first one matching which entails cutting apart the second one.... Opinions would be greatly appreciated...

Also let me add, I'm not looking for the money side of things... I'm looking for a bad-ass muscle car...

Put the best drivetrain in the best car.
Convince your dad that it is just temporary, and it will go back where it belongs before too long.
Cruise the "driver" while working on the other.

Convince Dad to provide the budget. There's a lot worse thing you could be spending his money on. Remember "father / son projects" Dad's are suckers for that.

See, you're a cool guy... Now thats where my dad differs from anybody. He could give a **** about a father/son project because he's a cheapass and he doesn't have any close relationships with anybody... Money or not, I want one of them... Prefferably the second one.

Give you guys a little insight... I need floorpans, probably a trunk pan, the header nose peice (before the hood), and a left fender... For now. thats about a grand. : / But hey you want a nice car, you'll pay for it, damn it. hahaha.
