I liked the F-Bomb I saw on "making of FF4" with a huge counter weight on the back to allow for easy wheelies! I wonder if it was used on this car?

That is one rough looking 2nd gen; looks like quite a bit of bad bondo work, and otherwise it is nothing special. I can't imagine that reportedly being a "movie car" adds much value, and I think it is overpriced at the current bid $13,600.

It is a poor imitation of the "real" F-Bomb: http://jalopnik.com/368100/nelson-supercars-chevy-camaro-+-the-f-bomb

Agreed, current price seems high for that 2nd gen already. For that price I would hope for some kind of documentation as well. I own one of the cars from the movie Dazed and Confused and don't consider it any more valuable than any other gto in similar condition.

Is it just the picture or is that a massive hole in the floor above the passenger muffler?:p

The real F-BOMB is a work of art. That is one ratty POS.
Diggin' the overspray on the r/f marker light.
Thanks for posting it though, it will be interesting to see what it sells for.

I am going to guess it will end north of $25K.
The Fast and Furious movies are this generations future cult classics.
Sure, you could build this car for about 6K, but the documented movie history makes it collectable.

Besides, rough looking hot rod type cars are what's hot right now at alot of car shows, at least in my neck of the woods!

i forget if it was super chevy or hot rod that i read about this car but for them to get it to wheel stand in the dirt they loaded it with lead and bent the car like a banana the article went on to say they fix it over night to flim the next day maybe that would be okay for some folks ?

Hot Rod May 2009 has that article. Interesting tidbit, most of the Chargers had Chevy drivetrains to save money!
It also has a $1700 1969 Camaro Barn Find on the cover, if you see it on the news stand, pick it up.

Holding at $15100 for a couple of days now...wonder if the price wasn't ran up to that amount by the seller? I realize that "what people are willing to pay" is what it's worth,
but they sure seem to be relying on the fact that it's been in a movie for trying to justify the price.
Wonder how much they would expect for it if the car had been in a GOOD movie!

I wonder why the need for a parachute on a car with a stock looking 350? Do the stickers on the upper radiator support add 1000hp?

The day someone does a 60 roll wheelie in the sand is the day I will sell my car and buy that setup just to drag my bumper off in the city to be a Cock Diesel myself.

The original F-Bomb is owned by David Fieberger, editor (I believe) of HotRod mag.
He and TOM NELSON (Nelson racing engines, Chatsworth Ca.) are good buddies from
"way back when". Nelson is a horsepower freak, to say the least. They wanted to build a car that would be a daily driver on pump gas and put out an insane amount of h.p. I think the F-Bomb puts out around 1,400 or so. it was featured in HotRod and also on an ESPN show, and maybe a few more. I'm not sure who designed the military insignia but it and the rest of the paint/body work was done by Scott Carpenter. They thought about several different colors but decided on the semi-gloss "military" green. In fact, Feiberger didn't even realize the car had been painted till he got a call from Scott and Tom. Feiberger now drives this car as a daily driver. I'm not sure how the movie people got the idea to use "copies" of the F-Bomb in the movie. They did use sound-clips from the real F-bomb throughout the movie. Nelson named this F-bomb: series 0001, in hopes of making a few more. Other than letting them use the "look", they didn't have anything to do with the making of the movie.
ADDED:... I went and looked at the Ebay ad. It looks to me they are using press clippings and photos of the real F-Bomb to sell the movie car. man, that's just wrong if I'm reading this right.

Freiberger is back at Hot Rod after a short stint at a web startup. I know this because a hot chick I met at a Johnny Cash tribute concert told me so. Apparently she knows him.

Freiburger, and a few other famous car owners, where invited to a casting call to select cars to be used in the movie. Freiburger took the F-Bomb movie car pictures published in Hot Rod, so he was so at least there during the stunt practicing.

There is a link to an article about the real F-Bomb, but it's obvious all pictures in the ebay ad are of the movie car, not the real car.

my screensaver is a pic of my daughter in the real f-bomb over at Tom Nelson's shop. I don't know what made her happier, sitting in it or Tim Allens sick truck he had their at the time. Its worth the time to check out his site. He doesn't have my 383 dyno on his site yet. My little 430 h.p. is probably the smallest he's ever had on his dyno! NELSONRACINGENGINES.COM

I never saw what was so great about the f bomb when they were building it, then when they announced the color I stopped reading.

When I first read this and saw the shallow price I was taken back, until I read it wasn't the real F-Bomb. The motor alone in the real F-Bomb is worth more than 27.5K

That is a pos for sure, F-Bomb is prob one of my favorite 2nd gens.

The color is actually one of the coolest aspects. In person, the insignia on the fenders looks pretty neat also. Besides, how many shiney Camaros does the world really need? Love that semi-gloss military green.
