I had to shrink the sides in about 1/8 to 3/16 " for proper fit. Otherwise the bezel will not hide the hole.I taped the properly sized template to the dash using the refrence holes shown and traced with a fine point sharpie marker.Be sure that all wiring etc. is out of harms way behind the dash, then think about cutting. If you have an old speaker magnet, place it under the dash to catch shavings.I drilled a pilot hole about 3/8" and cut the main portion out with a body saw. Then I came back with a carbide burr on a die grinder, and finally cleaned up with a stone to deburr.I tested fit while grinding to get the tightest possible, there isn't much holding that vent in place, and snug is better. You might have to trim the repro bezels a little to get a perfect contour to the dash... carhodge Apr 6th, 09, 08:06 PM Hey,thanks,I know alot have done this. Are you talking, the va or repo astro vents?Anyone else done this? automotive A.D.D Apr 7th, 09, 08:28 AM Hey,thanks,I know alot have done this. Are you talking, the va or repo astro vents?Anyone else done this? VA has a template in one of their older installation guides for the Astro vents. It is not included in the Gen IV install packet.I am waiting on my Gen IV now.I went to their download section and found it as a PDF. I ordered a astro vent kit from Firewheel Classics along with the ball seal or retainer. They fit decent and look alot better than the VA stuff. I also purchased the center vent, that is another thread. It takes some rigging to use with the VA.
