.......hmm,....:stirpot:.Why can't this thread just be about a President that happened to own one of the coolest cars ever produced......nope somebody just had to bring politics into a forum where it doesn't belong. Mods,if you have delete my response, I'm fine with that:yes: as I also feel the the quoted post should at least be moved or deleted as well.

.......I looked on ask.com and couldn't find anything about Bill owning a late 60's Mustang, but that's not to say that he doesn't, I just couldn't find anything saying that he did/does. It would be interesting to know if he does/did own a Mustang:yes:.

I'm with you Kurt! Makes me feel a lot better about how mine is turning out.
:)
I compared the gaps on the 4 or 5 First Gens I saw at a car show Saturday and they made me feel better as well. And these were high-dollar garage queens.
Rich69RS/SS Apr 6th, 09, 07:05 PM Bill Clinton did own 67 Mustang, I saw a old TV car show where event was a Mustang convention at some speedway. They found his old 1967 convertible, light blue with a white top and a 6 cylinder with a automatic tranny (if I remember right) . They got it running (tranny problems) and Bill drove it around. rsbecool Apr 6th, 09, 08:54 PM Cool picture. Almost looks like the seats have headrests.
thorpe67RS Apr 6th, 09, 09:03 PM Wow, that pic was from Jan 68 and the door gap looked like that?? Could that be that way from the factory?
RS3SDL2MG Apr 7th, 09, 04:17 AM SEATS : they do look to have headrest's I had not noticed that ,
GAPS : I think that we have forgot what the gap's on these cars were really like , we align them to today's standard's , but in the 60's they just were not that good , I did a 67 chevy truck a couple year's ago and had to cut mounting tabs off and move them and reweld to get stuff to line up and it was an unrestored original paint vehicle !
bill clinton did have a mustang I remember that , he mentioned it on a TV show one time , can't remember which TV show ?
SPARKY69 Apr 7th, 09, 04:43 AM Cool pic
z10kl Apr 7th, 09, 06:34 AM I don't think it is him. Looks like an airborn patcch. I think they jump out of planes. He was a pilot. He graduated from Harvard in 68. And this copy from a search below looks like he didn't sign up till MAY.
But on the other hand he already lost a hubcap so maybe it is.
Six-year service obligation
On May 27, 1968, Bush signed a six year obligation to complete "48 scheduled inactive-duty training periods" each fiscal year (typically consisting of four four-hour periods during one weekend each month), plus a minimum of 15 days of Annual Active Duty Training. For Bush, as a pilot, this was typically split into periods of duty of a few days each during the year.
67for/me Apr 7th, 09, 10:32 AM The doors from the factory had big gaps and were out at the latch and in at the hinges. So the point at the body line would not rub.

PROZ11 Apr 7th, 09, 11:30 AM Googled Clinton Mustang Found this.
1967 Ford Mustang Owned by President Bill Clinton
This 1967 Mustang was first bought in 1972 by President Clinton's late stepfather, Jeff Dwire, for the President's 16-year old brother, Roger Clinton. The Clinton family lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Bill Clinton was in law school at Yale when the car was purchased. President Clinton acquired the car several years ago while he was serving as Governor of Arkansas. Under his supervision, the car's exterior and interior were refurbished. While living in the Arkansas Governor's Mansion, he liked to take the Mustang out for casual Sunday afternoon drives with his family.
The Mustang became very visible during the 1992 presidential campaign. On August 19, 1992, Arkansas friends hosted a birthday party with a Fifties and Sixties theme for then Democratic Nominee William Jefferson Clinton. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chelsea Clinton arrived with the presidential nominee in the Mustang.
