Help.
I thought I knew this. In fact, I was very confident in this, however, again this comes up and I will ask the experts.
Folks, did the 1970 come have an option for a three piece rear spoiler?
I thought this option first appeared in 1971.
However, on the Nasty Z28 website it shows the following under 1970: COPO 9796 - 3 piece rear spoiler available

I thought I knew this, but now I am second quessing my self.
Please advise.

I believe it was a COPO option in '70 and a standard option in '71. Personally I prefer the 1-piece short spoiler.

Sorry, still confused.
When you say COPO option, does that mean it only would have been ordered thru say Baldwin Motion, Yenko, Nikki, etc... Could a regular guy off the street order it in 1970 if he walked into a dealership?
This is interesting stuff.
Appreciate your help.

it was a copo option but was offered late in the 70 run in like may or june so the chances of a 70 with a 3 piece is slim . i think the count was about 250

copo was just the central office. options were rpo or regular production. which meant that they were readily available on the Assembly line with a cost that was Pre determined. if you wanted to order off the rpo list( or in bulk at a discount) you had to go through the central office. if it was a common thing that the central office approved of it got a copo #. now if you really want a debate mention the front spoiler and when it debuted
