On my '69, I have the factory style console gauges, and can't get my temp gauge to work. I've tried two different sending units and am waiting on another from Matt's Classic Bowties. After searching other posts I read that the voltage at the sending unit should be approx. 7 volts which it is. I grounded the wire and expected the gauge to read full hot, but it just flickers. Any ideas?

I checked all connections including the grounds, and no luck. I talked to OER and they suggested trying the sending unit from Matt's. I'm getting the voltage I'm supposed to at all the points required. BTW, you CANNOT ground the sending wire to see if the needle deflects. It pops the fuse :o
