I am trying to decide which brand of fuel injection to go with. I was looking at either electromotive or accel gen VII. I've also heard good things about FAST and Holley. Any suggestions? I will be putting one an a stock small block and one on a hopped up big block.
Thanks,
Rod

The intake and injectors are not the big deal, it's the controller/computer. There are many FI systems from which to choose. The big names (Holley, Eldebrock) make it easy with bolt on kits. Are they good? Yes! Are they the best, not at all. They are made for the average joe with the average car that will run average. Don't get me wrong, average is great for most folks and is FAR BETTER than a carb for drivability. Every test I have seen stills shows a carb as good as FI for most drag race applications not using turbos or other neat stuff.
Electromotive, Fast and several others are very complete and VERY adjustable including all aspects including crank triggers, ignition, RPM range etc. This is what separates the men from the boys. A good FAST or Electromotive setup can be $3,000 plus just for the wiring and computer! You have to then furnish the intake and injectors. You can even modify a stock intake if you choose. A friend just injected his 455 Stage 1 Buick with Electromotive contollers. This has a coil for each cylinder. The more you can control, the better it will run.
You have to decide how you plan to use your car and the expense you can justify. For a nice ride around have fun street car, the Holley/Eldebrock work fine. For more agressive stuff, the sky is the limit. Go buy a magazine called "Grassroots Motorsports". It a rag for the road race/autocross crowd. Lots of improvement information concerning FI as it applies to many makes. They show some very sophisticated setups that are hybrids made to accomplish a certain goal. The rice rockets mags also have some detailed information as they always are into FI with Turbo/blower.
See, the ricers are really good for something!
