NOS endura bumpers are worth around 5000.00 What kinda price is on the one you have? I don't know of any numbers stamped or engraved. Is their a GM sticker?

You could get a mint on ebay. :)

And it is the case that the repos don't fit well at all?

how much does an original endura bumper go for?

It depends on the condition. Is the metal core rusty or bent? Any dryrot or splits? How much paint or primer is on the bumper that needs to be stripped. Not neading any work and is ready for paint "these days" around 950.00 with brackets. I've seen original center brackets go for 400.00 alone on ebay.

There have been two recently on the sYc classifieds. One for $1850 and the other at $2300.

I sold an absolutely perfect one (11000 mile take-off in 1973 with flawless original paint) for $3500 two years ago.

It's a shame they can't repo a endura bumper that's exact to the originals with the technology we have today all the repo parts should be better than the originals.IMO!

They could if the little CHINESE dudes could reach the pedals. All they care about is the $$$ They don't give $%&&$#E if the stuff fits good.:beers:

It seems it hit or miss with the repros. My buddy put a repro on his SS and it fit as nice as my original. I think it depends on if the brackets are GM or repro. I saw a bumper go for $2200 a few months ago on ebay. Original in good shape, just needed paint.

I thought someone was making good repo brackets now.

Man, you would think they could make brackets that fit and then sink it into a mold and pour the urethane!!!! Sophisticated molding isn't black magic anymore.

I have seen the new enduro kit on a car and it looks great! They are not made of the same material which I think is both good and bad. The good part is that the material is a very hard rubber (hockey puck hard) and so it's less likely to warp in the hot sun like the originals. The down side is that when you squeeze it, it doesn't feel like the original. Bottom line is that the new stuff is visually correct and if you are not looking for concourse correct, I recommend it.

Charley, I think Heartbeat is making a more correct bumper bracket.

The warpage with the originals is generally due to rust on the metal reinforcement or frame work causing the urithane to buldge. Original bumpers didnt have any kind of rust proofing on the brackets, they were just bare steel. The urithane will sepperate from the reinforcement due to different expansion characteristics and leave gaps for moister. It doesnt take much to cause the buldging also.

I have owned a few cars with OEM Enduras and bought one NOS Endura. My NOS bumper had allready had light surface rust and sepperation around the brackets. It also had some small cracks around the brackets where the urithane was sepperating from the reinforcement. The urithane is very thin on the back side of the bumpers.

What are the new ones made out of if not urethane?
