View Full Version : Sad News from Major League Baseball Today 1969ProStreetCamaro Apr 9th, 09, 11:00 AM Very saddening................... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,513597,00.html David F. okiemark Apr 9th, 09, 11:09 AM David: I just saw that on the local news here in L.A. Apparently, this young kid had just pitched the game of his life. he was brought up to the Angels due to injuries to some of the pitchers on the team. But, they say it was just a matter of time till he was called up to stay; tragic loss. alanrw Apr 9th, 09, 11:49 AM There has been a lot of that lately here in SoCal. I am beginning to treat green lights as stop signs. No one understands what a red light is anymore. A terrible, terrible tradgedy. alan camaroman7d Apr 9th, 09, 12:32 PM This story is just crazy and sad. Kid 22 made it back to the big leagues, was the Angels top young prospect, just pitched a real nice game (I watched it as I am an A's fan), gets killed by another kid 22 that was a looser, no drivers license, previous DUI, of course he doesn't get hurt but, kills 3 people and has a 4th in intensive care unit. Explain to me how that's fair? Very sad. camaroman7d Apr 9th, 09, 12:34 PM There has been a lot of that lately here in SoCal. I am beginning to treat green lights as stop signs. No one understands what a red light is anymore. A terrible, terrible tradgedy. alan My inlaws were down in SoCal and got plowed by some idiot running a light, luckily they all made it out ok but, the van they were driving was totaled. Brackneyc Apr 9th, 09, 02:11 PM This pisses me off to no end. Gdamn drunk drivers. RIP young man. You deserved better than this. Rich69RS/SS Apr 9th, 09, 03:12 PM Add to the list the two USC students that were run down that killed a girl and put the guy in the hospital with broken legs. So what did the driver do that plowed into them ? Pulled over 300 feet down the road then someone got out of the car pulled the kid off the car like a rag doll and drove away. They caught the driver (latino woman) but still looking for the others. But how much of a cold heart do you have to treat a badly hurt person like that. Angels had another bad thing happen, a guy got into a fight after the opening day game in the stairwell then another guy jumped in so it was two on one. The guy that was beaten up died later at the hospital, crazy I tell you just crazy... wiskeesour Apr 9th, 09, 03:37 PM This story is just crazy and sad. I am beginning to treat green lights as stop signs. No one understands what a red light is anymore. A terrible, terrible tradgedy. alan you guys are right. the drunk drivers are everywhere. i have been hit by four drunk drivers in my career. thats just crazy. lucky for me, my injuries are minor compared to this. thank god for traffic cops. if not for them there would be more drunk drivers out there. cencal69 Apr 9th, 09, 04:45 PM I'm an A's fan and suddenly sports rivalries don't mean squat when something like this happens. There's nothing I can type to make this situation any better. I hope his family finds peace. Rich69RS/SS Apr 9th, 09, 05:06 PM This story is just crazy and sad. Explain to me how that's fair? Very sad. Royce a little off topic but I used to watch Jack Cust (A's outfielder) when he played single A ball here in the high desert (Mavericks) . He was pounding them out back then with two or three a game, after he hit it out they would pass the hat (bucket) for Jack and you would throw in a few bucks. He made some good money when I saw him play, didn't he set the league record for strikeouts (197 ?) last season with the A's ? Brackneyc Apr 9th, 09, 08:06 PM you guys are right. the drunk drivers are everywhere. i have been hit by four drunk drivers in my career. thats just crazy. lucky for me, my injuries are minor compared to this. thank god for traffic cops. if not for them there would be more drunk drivers out there. I'm glad those cops are there too, I just wish the legal system didn't continually drop the ball where DUI is concerned. Must really piss off the cops that go through all the trouble to bring these criminals in, only to have them (the DUI criminals) do it over and over again. zuma Apr 9th, 09, 09:23 PM Sad day indeed...what a waste...my heart goes out the the families of all the victims...The Drunk Driver should do life for this... sixtynine Apr 9th, 09, 09:45 PM I just don't get it! Most of the time these people are 2nd and sometimes 3rd offenders. Sad! Here is another one from my area a few weeks ago. Ready for this, one of the kids he killed was his roomate... and the families were pretty close. :( http://www.wdsu.com/news/18869418/detail.html seeburg220 Apr 10th, 09, 02:51 PM Every dui fatality is a tragedy. A lot of my co-workers have gotten dui's and most act like it's no big deal. Makes me sick. My neighbor was killed by a drunk teenager 2 years ago: head-on collision. Teen was thrown from her burning suv and barely got a scratch. My neighbor died instantly. She was a mother of 3 coming home from choir practice. Life is cruel. sleepsinshed Apr 10th, 09, 03:26 PM I'm glad they're planning to charge the driver with murder. In too many states vehicular homicide still carries only a short jail term. jumpstart Apr 10th, 09, 04:32 PM We'll see what happens. In this day and age, it seems as though the criminals have more rights than the victims. |
