It would be normal on a cold start up, but not after running a few minutes.

Is it all the time or only when you start it up for the first time in a while? It is normal for condensation to form inside the muffler and pipe (causing rust!) and starting the car and warming up the exhaust will drive it out and you will see moisture coming out the tailpipe. But after a decent cruise around the neighbor hood and everything is warmed up, you still have water coming out, then I would look further. A cracked head or block would throw a lot of mist as well when warm (ask me how I know :( )

5 mins is a long time for the water to still be seen coming out... it should stop within a min or less. Check for later leaks, and keep a close eye on the rad level. As already indicated it could be a block prob. Good luck, eh?

I don't think 5 minutes is long at all.

Hi Ted,

I would say that around 5 minutes is more the norm.

Pretty easy to figure out for anyone even a little bit mechanically inclined... I see you're in Canada so I'm sure you use some type of coolant. Is it clear water or antifreeze ? Does it blow white smoke as well or is it just plain old clear water dripping from the tailpipes ? I'm guessing you don't have a problem. Condensation is what you're seeing and it's the reason most exhaust systems rust from the inside out..

I have the same 327 2brl. very common. If set up right it will take good 5-6 min to warm up. for me and i am in the southwest (warm) all year.

Hi Dale! I dunno...5 mins seems like a fair bit. Might depend upon how long the car has been parked? Guess I'm tending to use my own as a standard. I know if the white smoke continues, and there's a fair bit of water coming out... the antifreeze wasn't up to snuff... and ya got probs.

5 minutes is not long especially if it's been idling . Its normal condensation.
