Trans is a built up 350 with 11" Coan Converter 2800 trans cooler and 3.73 gear, what do you think this will do in a 1/4 mile? Not sure on weight of car, it's a '71 Camaro.
68Camaro68 Apr 11th, 09, 08:26 PM Motor
385 hp
405 tq
Rear wheels
300 hp
375 tq
Just a guess...........
6D9 Apr 11th, 09, 11:07 PM Excellent combo! Should go mid 12's no problem.
yellow heap Apr 11th, 09, 11:16 PM Smart combo-Though I would have up'ed the cam a touch
375hp-415+tq
TJS69 Apr 12th, 09, 12:35 PM An old version of Desktop Dyno says HP=387 at 5,500 RPM. TQ=411 at 4000 RPM. It looks like a great street combo to me. DD is a tad optimistic so 375HP 400 TQ ?
camncars Apr 12th, 09, 04:05 PM I may go from the 670 to a 750 carb. I was told from afr the power could be close to 475HP and 425TQ. I don't think it will have quite that much though. My guess would be about 425 hp and 390 tq.
any more guesses?
camncars Apr 12th, 09, 05:03 PM I was just looking at the Edelbrock Performer RPM Small Block Chevy crate engines and they have 410hp and 408tq on one with rpm heads and 435/435 on there engine with the etec heads. I would think that I should have more power than those with my AFR 180 heads and my Voodo cam/1.6 rockers and an air gap intake. ???????
TJS69 Apr 12th, 09, 10:52 PM I think AFR is dreaming a little. I would keep the 670 cfm carburetor, unless this is going to be a drag only car. The 750 cfm is just too big for a 350 on the street. If you want more cfm go with a Quadrajet. Most Quadrajets are 750 cfm, but the primaries are small for great street performance and mileage.
camncars Apr 14th, 09, 06:49 AM TTT, any other guesses. I'm probablly going to stick with the 670 now.
johnny5 Apr 15th, 09, 04:38 PM Have a look at my sig. I've only managed a 13.1 @ 107.48mph. The car weighs 3525 with me in it so if you do the math I only have 411hp at the crank. I should be able to muster low to mid 12s with some traction at that mph. I've got a set of ET Streets that I'm going to try out this year. With some tuning I should be able to get around 430hp with this combo.
My guess for your engine tuned up is around 410 with that carb. Up the carb size and you will get a better hp # 416hp/435tq

This article runs almost the same combo, I think your Voodoo 268 is more like a 274 cam so your numbers may be a bit higher.
Check out the article. AFR has a great site with all kinds of combos. The Dyno doesn't lie.
camncars Apr 15th, 09, 10:44 PM TTT,thanks, great article johnny5. I would expect to see slightly better numbers than the article with my cam/rockers/ slightly larger headers/ and a bit more compression. I can't wait to see my car on the dyno. I really don't know exactly what to expect as I built this to be my weekend cruiser. I will be weighing my car within a couple weeks, but I am guessing it will be around 3100 lbs. w/out driver (71 Camaro, ac and heat is gone) I'm looking foward to driving it as it has yet to be driven with the new setup, some minor tuning and finishing up to do.
Keep up the comments people!!!!
