Hello everyone...thought i would introduce myself. I've been a visitor over here for awhile searching through old posts and thought i might as well sign up and say hi.
I'm 34 , an electrician by trade (hence the user name) and married w/ a 16 mos. old daughter. I've always been in to the "world of hot rods". I graduated high school with a 67 Goat and 70 Chevelle. The GTO was in bad shape and i didn't hang on to it that long and the Chevelle was sold when I was 20-21 because i thought i wanted a new GM truck. We all know the rest of that story. From there I kind of got in to the motorcycle scene and bought a couple of Harley's that i still have today, but my true love has always been GM Muscle Cars.
Last fall I had the opportunity to go in halves with my father to buy a 68 Conv. Camaro from a close friend of family. It hadn't been plated since 1980 and was just sitting in his garage. The car is in great original plain jane state(all original 327/210horse, 2 speed PGtranny, electric conv. top, deluxe interior, everything in excellent mechanical shape). I was a little apprehensive about it because we are looking to build a house this year and convertibles aren't really my first choice of muscle car and if i was going to buy a Camaro i would've liked it to be a 69. Long story short, his asking price was lower than i would of thought and pops said he would go halves and it was then ours. The thought is that the car would be more for my wife and mother. Once the house is built, I was given the "ok" to get my "car".ha ha
Anyway...i look forward to chatting with everyone and want to thank others in advance for the help I've already received from this forum. Sorry so long. Jake :beers:
