I want to do an LS swap but, funds are low and I was wondering what the original motor and transmission might be worth. I haven't checked the numbers but I'm pretty sure it is all original. The only thing not on the motor is the air cleaner.

The lady that owned it never replaced anything, the key switch was messed up so she had it rigged with a toggle. The pins and bushings went out so she just slammed her hip into it to get the door to shut.:o

Also what about the seats? They have some springs showing on the edges near the door.

Frank, I've been told that certain 327s are desireable to for Corvette guys, depending on the numbers and such. I have one I took out of my '68.

I should have stated it's in my 68 project that I haven't started on yet.

If original, it's worth the most in your car! If you have the need for a different engine, keep the 327/PG stashed away when/if there comes a day you wish to sell the car

From what I have seen, a large journal 327 (with cast crank) and the lesser heads (small intake valves) are not worth much, maybe $300 to $500 to the right buyer, with the Glide bringing maybe $100 to $200 more. There is really not much of a market for these parts.

...as stated, ...there may not be a big market for the parts. If as you say, it's in your '68 (non-original), ...then it might be worth gathering all the casting and date information. For those restoring looking for dated components, ...those parts might be worth something/more.
If by chance it's an original 275hp (Camaro) engine, ...that's obviously worth more.

Thanks for all the input. I hope to start tearing it down late summer and I look into the casting numbers then but I'm pretty sure it is original. Like I said the lady never fixed anything and so the motor would need to be rebuilt.
