Hi Just got a 68 with the 327 and powerglide from the 2 barrel carb/intake I can tell it's the 210hp. before I got it, it had been sitting in a barn for the last 7 yrs with fluids so from my knowledge it would be best to to a major over haul. Now my question is should I rebuild this to stock. I may not be to use to older motors but I know I owned a 200 hp v6 and as much as it was fun I want more hp.I'd really hate owning a car like this and then have some suped up civic beat me off the line.:mad: So what can I do what is my best rebuild options? the 275hp version of the 327 has a 4 barrel intake/carb and 10:1 compression which from articles I read states that high a ratio requires 91 octane or higher. I really don't want to ""Have"" to go premium every time @ the pump, so do I skip the domed pistons. Also can I build on a 2 barrel can I get near 300hp with a 2 barrel or is the cfm number to low on that. Any ideas I know this motor can be a power house just from the vette numbers of 375hp stock.
