My 67 currently has non-power drum/drum and I have been reading about different kits on here to convert to power disc/drum. It seems many have had good luck with matt's bowtie classics, and it is my goal to keep it economical. My brake lines are pretty new all around, will it be necessary to replace them due to routing, size or other incompatibilities? Thanks everyone, hoping to keep it as cheap and painless. Also it seems that the basic single piston caliper setup (aka non-high performance) is perfectly fine for me. Thanks again.

If you are going to power brakes that means your master cylinder will be mounted to a booster. This will elevate your M/C and your existing brake lines ~may~ be too short to reach. I know that as I just converted from all manual drums to all manual disc and replaced all brake lines. They accidentally sent me new front lines for a power setup instead of manual. The lines were too tall as they overshot my MC. If my M/C was mounted to a booster, hence higher, the lines would fit. Sounds like you have new lines and depending on the setup you may be able to make them work…

For what it's worth, here is an option. You said single piston and affordable - this is both and with with drilled & slotted rotors and braided brake hoses. I am a big fan of SUMMIT brand parts as they are affordable and have been of good quality in every item i I have purchased.

You may also want to check with BelAir Bob; his kits are very economical, and if you get the right kit, you should not have to change any hardlines.

I believe this kit is the one you need, but you would want to confirm that it attaches to the drum front brake lines in the OE location. Normally all it means it that the rubber flex line to the caliper needs to be a little longer to reach back to the OE hardline brackets.

.... Sounds like you have new lines and depending on the setup you may be able to make them work…

If your lines are coiled at the bottom then I think you should be able to sligthly pull the coils apart and strech the lines making them reach the new higher M/C. My lines did not have the coils...
