I'm new to this site, I have a 1980 camaro . I want to put on a 70 front end are they interchangable? Thanx for your help

Interchangeable ? No. Can it be done ? Yes. It all depends on how much stuff you want to swap. They went to energy absorbing bumpers in '74. You more than likely would even have to swap subframes. Check out http://www.nastyz28.com.

is it possible to just mount the front on with out changing to much stuff. Im about to buy the 70 front end on ebay for $450. Thanks for all your help Im really new at this i Just bought the car. i fell in love with the 70's look thanks joe

I did a little digging :

70-77 Fenders are the same. 78-81 fenders are the same.

70 vs 80 Hoods are different 70 vs. 80 bumpers etc. are different.

70 vs 80 Core supports are different 70 vs. 80 radiators are ???

The whole front clip would need to be swapped !

Done it myself, or more or less the same swap '73 onto a '79.

'79 was a nice low mile car that was hit in front. I had a '73 front clip laying around.

You can reuse the hood and hinges from the '80 and that's about it.
I unplugged the wiring and hacked the wrecked clip off the car (I'd suggest unbolting if you can)

You'll end up with a bunch of extra holes for unused bracketry, but the subframe will accept all of the '70 stuff

70-81 camaro hood are the same, I had a 81 Z28 air induction hood on a 70 that I had.
The only thing different on 70-73 and 74-77 and 78-81 is the core support and the fenders, but a core support from a 74-77 will work on a 78-81.

The hood is different between the years BUT it will fit (inner under structure differences, but I *think* originality is out the window here). Radiator varied with application but they'll all pretty much bolt in. If you are bored enough and are willing to spend the time (measuring/drilling and positioning, and welding if you want to do the caged nut like original)) you can make the '80 radiator support work, but it has no provisions for the headlights/bumper bracketry etc, and it has odd holes for the '80 bumper stuff.
