View Full Version : 1969 Yenko 22k miles - 1969 Z28 JL-8 34k miles
68SSCamaroinKS Apr 21st, 09, 11:04 PM Hey guys, ran across a couple of "potentially" nice finds for someone that is looking for one of the above. As you can see, this guy is also selling a 427/435 corvette and a Hemi Cuda.
If this is a legit deal, and if anyone needs assistance in checking the cars out and some pictures, I live 15 miles away and would be happy to help. All I ask is that you are a serious buyer and not a picture collector.

I have been around here for over 20 years and have heard of a gentleman that had some of the cars listed above, but never saw them. Could be the cars I heard about.
clill Apr 21st, 09, 11:42 PM Never seen a silver Yenko Camaro with aluminum heads. Sounds like a clone to me.
Vegas69 Apr 22nd, 09, 12:01 AM A Yenko on Craigslist, that can't be a scam. :D

Charley, I wouldn't think there are too many that were built with houndstooth interior either. Weren't most of them standard interior? I tend to agree with you that it is probably a clone, especially when his other listing about the split window Vette contains this line: "tell me what you are looking for, can build to suite".
68SSCamaroinKS Apr 22nd, 09, 11:40 AM Somebody else email and indicate that you are a ways away. I haven't heard back which, if it is a scam, might be because I am close to him.
BTW, whatever happened to the term "clown" in place of "clone"? I prefer "clown" personally. :)
Unreal Apr 22nd, 09, 06:42 PM I'm with Charley. No silver ones, no houndstooth, no aluminum heads, although I guess it's possible that someone put them on after delivery. Stinks, to me, but lots can get changed in 40 years. Might be worth a peek.
Jonesy Apr 22nd, 09, 06:50 PM If the guy was legit, he would have at least listed a phone number. BS

Maybe so but he just responded back and said that both cars are sold.

Gary I believe the last 2 or 3 had aluminum heads.I believe DM from Texas has one of the last ones.
alanrw Apr 23rd, 09, 02:37 PM $65K for a JL8? Restored? Has the market contracted that much? Those cars were going for $120-130K a year ago. Not sure if they sold, but that was the wish price.

No the market hasnt contracted that much. At least not looking at auctions from around the country on other pedigreed cars. Not sure what the deal is with this one...
Unreal Apr 23rd, 09, 06:41 PM Tim, did Don offer that as an option, or did he add them to the last few and jump the price? Do you know the price adder.
MUSCLECARMAGMAN Apr 24th, 09, 11:40 AM Gary I've never researched it but years ago I think it was Vince Emme told me about the last few cars.I can't remember exactly or if he told me there were docs that Don added those heads to sell the cars. The discussion came up over Delmers car which is one of the last vin cars and has aluminum heads. That conversation took place about 8 years ago and i have no contact with Vince.Tim
Unreal Apr 24th, 09, 05:22 PM There was a FG one w/VE-3 at SCR1 in Nashville which was restored by SCW and, as I recall, had aluminum heads. I never talked to Brian or anyone about it, but I always thought it was simply restored the way they wanted it. Maybe it was one of those late ones, and restored correctly.
MUSCLECARMAGMAN Apr 24th, 09, 06:04 PM I could be wrong but I don't think that was one of the cars i think it was personal preferance.
