Pro-Street69Camaro468 May 3rd, 09, 08:06 AM This would be a simular stretch on a 67 or 8 Camaro.Looks very nice good looking work did you make the fill in peices or are they from another quarter..What size Tire is it going to have to need a 6" stretch.I have never stretched a 7or 8 but heard they were a pain. Not to jump your thread but to add to it,heres a pic of the stretch on my 69.I like to see the threads in PS keep us posted on the build Brian...

Sorry, I didn't even see you question , I was looking at your pics.
Thanks for the compliment.
Your stretch looks good.
The fill in peices are from the old quarter skin.
Not sure on the tire size. I will check tomorrow.
They are big though.

67rs_since1977 May 8th, 09, 09:05 PM So, what's the difference between a stretch and a flare?
67speedfreak May 9th, 09, 10:52 AM So, what's the difference between a stretch and a flare?
A stretch is when you enlarge the wheel opening front to back for a taller tire.
A flare would be to add width to the quarter for a wider tire.
67rs_since1977 May 10th, 09, 10:06 PM Ah, I see. Thanks speedfreak.
cwylie Oct 27th, 09, 11:36 AM Anyone every do this on a 67-68 camaro?
prostreet69camaro Oct 27th, 09, 12:38 PM I have never done a 68 before but I did the 69 that I own. I did it like Dave did above.
The problem with a 67/68 is the opening is round so if you stretched it,, there would be a flat piece ( like the 69 ) across the middle which to me would look funny.
I like the way that Brian ( speedfreak ) did the mustang quarter panel stretch. It is just like a 67/68 camaro quarter panel. He made it look like one big half circle. Very nice indeed.
Harwood does make the fiberglass panels that are glued onto the existing quarterpanel to make a bigger opening. Dont know how long it would last before the fiberglass cracked. I would rather have all metal.
1969ProStreetCamaro Oct 27th, 09, 02:16 PM Welcome back Brian !!!! I guess you've been very busy working on customers cars !!!!!!! Made any progress on your '67 ??????

prostreet69camaro Oct 27th, 09, 06:32 PM Last time Brian was here was in May. Cwylie was asking about stretching the 67/68 quarter panel. Maybe Brian will see this and respond.

Nice Job on the Stang :thumbsup:I am assuming you moved the rear back because you just extended the back. Was this in the plans when you started.I was thinking of doing this on my 69 but my buddy talked me out of it.
Pro Street Garry Jan 12th, 10, 07:22 AM I wish I could answer that question but I was not the one doing the Fab. Work. It was done back in 1988-1990. From the picture it looks like that’s how it was done. I only got a hand full of pictures that I scanned so I’m not sure if more work was done to the front. Looking at the photo again I noticed that the tire is just sitting on the ground. The only way to find out would be to take some measurements.
prostreet69camaro Jan 12th, 10, 09:05 AM By looking at the pictures I would say they moved the rearend back about 2".
