I just looked at 2 cars that I am debating purchasing. I was looking for parts for my 69 convertible and stumble across these 2. The same owner has the pair.
67 coupe plane jane. It was a 327 2 barrel 3 on the tree gold on gold car deluxe interior, non pwr steering and non pwr drum brakes all the way around.
The bad
The car has rust all over. Quarters, trunk, fenders and hood all have rust through. It was running when parked 15 or so years ago and has sat covered outside. The cowl tag reads 3S if I remember corectly. very few options.
The good
It is a complete car that is together. It currently has a 327 2 barrel that is thought to be original, a 4 speed muncie, a hurst shifter and a 12 bolt posi with 4:10. There are 68/69 style ralleys and all exterior chrome, grill and emblems are intact. It has the rear window defog. All glass is good. The deluxe interior is worn but all there and has the deluxe steering wheel.
69ss coupe. It was a 350/300hp 4 speed, pwr disk brakes, duel fuel line Daytona yellow, black vinyl top with standard black interior, no style trim??, non spoiler and with rear window defog.
The bad
The car is really rusty and still has its originall yellow paint and black hokey stripe. The quarters, trunk and fenders are shot. Big holes. There is also rust under the rear window. The engine, trans and radiator are gone and a multi leaf 4:56 10 bolt sits in it. The console, tach, exterior ss emblems, outside mirors are gone. The original ss hood was warped from an engine fire but still in place. Grill is melted. I cannot see the cowl tag because the hood only opens so far but i fear it was melter in the fire.
The good
The owner is the second owner and parked the car in 1977 after an engine fire. The owner states it is a real ss and I believe it from all of the signs I can see. The interior is in near perfect condition. No tears or rips in the seats, door panels, dash pad, original radio and carpet is even nice. It has deluxe metal seat belts??? All the glass is good. Still has T3. The standard stearing wheel with ss insert is ok shape. Doors are good and open and close remarkably well. Trunk lid is good with no spoiler holes. The rear window defog is intact. 10,000 miles on the odometer(110,000 I imagine). It has 2 realy old magnesium torque thrust wheels but the rest of the car is complete.
The 67 might be drivable car with a little work but the 69 i think is too far gone and is good for parts.
What do you think they are worth? Seperate or together as a package? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
