See the copper button sticking up to the right of the steering shaft? If you ground that you should hear the horn honk. There is a plastic piece that slides down over the shaft that has a copper piece in it that maintains contact with that button when you turn the wheel. That plastic piece also has a tube in it that holds a contact button and spring or contact wire and spring that is held in place with a small twist lock piece. The type of steering wheel and adapter dictate which it is. This info is based on factory type steering wheels, an aftermarket wheel could have a different design...

the plastic peice your talking about is missing, is it something i can get at ricks, year one, ect? its a momo wheel and adapter, the pics shows what was under the adapter but nothing else there. i thiught there was supposed to be a cover that gets bent when you remove it but it was missing as well. thx ,its starting to make some sense now.
question, does that copper button just need a ground or does it need to be depressed to make gnd?

The copper button is spring loaded to maintain contact to the round piece, pushing it does nothing... The steering wheel hub is grounded to the steering shaft, the button is hot. The pieces in between act as the switch when you push the horn button. The factory parts I describe are available, you may need a combination of them and something from Momo.

The part you're missing is the turn signal cancelling cam.

The top of it has a post that sticks up that turns off the turn signal when you straighten the wheel back out and the underside has the copper ring that makes contact with that copper button sticking up. Your horn wire 'should' be attached to the turn signal assy. already. Try grounding the copper button sticking up to the column and see if the horn beeps, as Dennis mentioned. If it just clicks the horn or horn relay may be bad. You can test the horn under the hood by just running a hot wire from the battery and a ground wire.

Refer back to your other horn help post.

Like DJD says..
and it is not hard to make the tube, solder flat round copper contact at the bottom and using a ball piont pen spring...details in older posts...
