I'll probably regret this in a few years but I'm thinking of selling my 67RS to fund a new 2010SS. :D I would like to get some opinions from you guys on value. Here is the scoop.

I purchased the car from the original owner bout 6 months ago. I was told by him it has had two repaints in it's life. Still has its original color of Butternut yellow with black interrior.

Documents I have:

*Retail order from dealer
*Inspection and delivery sheet from dealer
*Car invoice showing options
*Loan documents, payment vouchers, paid in full docs, etc.
*Original registration
*Original owners manual w\POP. (Shows original owner had 6 and 12 service performed at dealer.
*State inspection
*AM\FM radio operating instructions (LOL)
*Numerous receipts and detailed timeline on engine rebuild in 83'.
All docs are in excellent condition.

Dealer Options:

Disc brakes
Pwr steering
AM\FM raido (Still in car and works although with low audio)
Factory tint
D70x14 Red stripe tires (Long gone obviously)
Four spd tranny
Rear seat speaker
Comfortilt steering wheel
Black vinyl top
Rear window defroster
RS package
Instrument cluster
Remote control mirror ( Replaced not original )
Deluxe interrior package
Center console

Items that work: Horn, all lights, cig lighter, raidio, clock (Sometimes), tach, gauges, speedo.

Items that do NOT work: RS headlight system - Everything is there cept for one motor, I haven't had time to look at this yet.

Drivetrain:
original - I replaced the following: Fuel tank ( have original ), fuel lines, fuel pump, rebuilt carb, changed plugs, oil, antifreeze, etc. Car will crank right up and runs and drives great. Engine bay is original so it could use a little cleanup.

Body: Rust around rear window, trunk pan. I pulled the vinyl top off to investigate rust. Pics will show better than words. Doors and windows are in great alignment and work flawlessly. Hood and doors close with ease. Still have spare and jack in trunk.

I think that pretty much covers it, I will go out and take some detailed pics in a few.

Thanks, Joe

Given the current market and the need of restoration. I would say around $12,000 13,000

I'd say up to $15K. Its an RS, all matching with all docs, console gauges, 4 speed. The rust hurts it , and if it were the 327/275 engine, it'd be in excess of $20K imho.

As a frame of reference, I have a 67 std, but with 327/275, PG, docs and factory AC,PB and PS. It has no rot, and I'd probably be able to get high teens (maaaaaybe $20K?) for it in today's market. I figure the values are down a real 20% right now.

Yes you could! Just a set of double humps with the 64 cc chambers would make a dramatic difference. The irony is that your 4 speed 210 horse car would probably give my 275 horse PG a run for its money. That PG makes it a dog when compared to the 4 speed. It would be a shame to swap the matching heads though. We also have an all matching 327/210 RS with PG in Capri Cream here too. Your 67's looks like a nice one. I think I vaguely remember you getting this car. Are you related to Rich?

12-14k...mostly due to rust issues..which may or may not be that bad but still need to be dealt with. And while i like butternut yellow its not the greatest color in terms of value.

You are correct, Rich is my brother. I posted some info here when I made the purchase a while ago.

Thanks to all for the replies.

I sold a 67 rs 210, pg, pw, a/c, fold down, tilt, gauges, marina blue over bright blue deluxe. Had new interior but body was very close to your car. I got $14k

I think you will realistically get around $10K for it.

Traitor. :)

I'd say 15k as well. Maybe a little higher (17k) if you replace the vinyl top and clean her up real well (no rattle can paint though). Market is waayyyy down, so it would be a wait till you get the right buyer thing.

Long as you don't sell the 69. Guys, Joe's 69 was his first car, and at one time belonged to a high school friend of mine. It's been: Brown (w/ gold rally stripes), Blue, Yellow, Hugger Orange. Did I miss any joe? :)

There were five or six guys here that offered 15-18k when you found the car a few years back and I posted here. Put a free classified ad in the for sale section and see if any of those guys are still interested in it before you craigslist or ebay it. Give them first crack at it.

I remember thinking you got a pretty sweet deal on it when you bought it, but with the current market, it isn't worth a dime more than you paid.
Hell, get a 5 year 0% GMAC loan to buy the new one and keep this one till the market comes back.

X2 - 12- 14k with the rust. Nice seeing all of the docs that come with it.

I've seen the car and the rust is really just scaling/pinholes in three spots or so, size of a half dollar, all under the vinyl top. Of course, it helps that I can look at the car! :)

I would be more worried about the seam where the fender extension meets the fender.

The front fenders and extensions are far more easily replaced/repaired than holes in the roof. Granted the roof repair doesn't have to be world class as it wasn't from the factory, but I would think there are more sequences to repairing than the fenders; i.e. window glass, headliner, etc. Trunk floors are a pain to replace too. Those items cost more just from the labor standpoint to repair properly.
It's a cool car, it's cool that it comes with all the original documentation but it's still not an SS or even a factory L30. It's worth the 12k he paid for it but I don't see it having appreciated in this economy. To do a decent, complete restoration would be at least another 12-15k. Would it bring 24-27k today restored ?? With all the true muscle on the market right now at better prices than that, I'm thinking not.

as far as selling your 67 camaro to buy one of the new cadimaro's I would not do that ,
THINK OF IT LIKE THIS ,

2 year's from right now your 67 camaro will be A 1967 CAMARO !

2 year's from right now the new cadimaro will be ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,A USED CAR !

I love the 67 you have it has a lot of potential if I owned it I would not be able to sleep !
MAN think about what you have there a 67 , it's got the tach and console gauge's , it's an RS , it's a 4spd , nice car you have there .
