View Full Version : Is this a Nicky aftermarket conversion?
rlyfst1 Apr 25th, 09, 04:56 PM Hey All, my friend just brought this car back from the current owners of Nicky and just accepting their word, this is a Nicky full aftermarket correct conversion. Now he's having second thoughts.

NHBandit Apr 25th, 09, 06:36 PM Second thoughts about what ? The current owner of Nickey is a member here and while I have no personal knowlege about the gentleman his reputation is flawless among the Camaro community. Does your friend think he was lied to and if so post why so the seller can defend himself. To question someones reputation with NO facts is just plain wrong. For what it's worth I wish I could afford a car like that from a seller with Nickey's reputation.
Stefano Apr 25th, 09, 06:38 PM Here is what I know! We (Nickey) sold this car with full and proper disclosure. This car is not included in the Nickey Registry and it is currently not verified as an authentic "Nickey" Camaro.
This Camaro had some local history and a story behind it, that it was purchased from a dealer other than Nickey and then brought to Nickey Chevrolet back for an L72 Conversion.
Real and documented Nickey Super Cars sell for a substantial premium. The last one brought to public auction sold for just shy of $500,000.00, with fees, in the worst economic times anyone of us may have ever seen.
We did show this Camaro at the Chevy Vette Fest Nationals (Now the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals) and raced the car at the Super Car Reunion.
I can say that it is one Cool Camaro.

Thanks for the reply Stefano, it was the definition of "authentic" that had all of us looking at the car confused, and thus confounded Steve (the new owner) about what he owned. The #1 reason most of us were confused was the (now realized that it's a fair price) is the price he paid for it. Instant clarification, gotta love this site.
RSR Apr 27th, 09, 07:53 PM Thank you Mr Bimbi for also pointing out how "real and documented" cars sell even in tough economic times.Back in 1980-82 was pretty tough times for muscle cars and we all thought 5k for a 69 Z/28 was outrageous! This is a great site!!!

JOE58 Jun 14th, 09, 05:44 AM Not many real Nickey Chevrolet 427 Camaros have been found.
Nickey Chevy closed in 1973 and there were no vin records, so you will need to have good documentation such as original Nickey Chevy 427 paperwork and NICB to prove the car's history.
