Since the 400 goes to the machine shop on tuesday I am having all kinds of combos running through my head!! I was thinking about the Weiand 174 blower for the 406. I figured with my AFR heads and a nice cam should be able to get an easy 600 very streetable horses. What do you guys think?? Will they fit under a 2" cowl induction hood???

Any info you guys have on them would be great!

Not a single guy running this set up huh???

We seriously considered running this setup on a friend's 69 Camaro. After we did the measurements we decided that it would NOT fit under the stock cowl hood with an air cleaner. We figure if everything fit just as we measured the carb would wind up 1" from the top of the cowl (the carb is in the hole) and that was a carb without a choke tower.

It was just us measuring, but we were pretty thorough --- we went to the speed shop and measured a 174 blower and different carbs, different air cleaners, etc. We just kept coming up about 1" too tall . . .

Maybe someone that has tried this setup could give some real-life info . . .
