I ordered a twin disc clutch, clutch master and a newly offered SFI bell housing/scatter shield from McLeod a month or so ago. The bell is a new item that wasn't offered until recently for the LT1 T56 behind a Gen IV big block. The twin disc is a pretty trick set up. They finally arrived and since the weather was nice last weekend I decided to install them. I ran out of time since I only has some of Saturday to work on it, and was working alone so I didn't get it finished. A friend showed up later and helped me put the trans back in though. I can't figure out how I could have possibly done this by myself the last time I did it, but somehow I did it solo that time. That 6 spd. ain't light. I did a little more work on it Monday night but I still have to replace the clutch master. I probably won't get to that until this weekend. Can't wait to see how it drives with the twin disc clutch. The old set up started slipping under boost after I installed the new blower last summer.

Wow PROZ!! That looks like a super high quality setup!! Let us know how you like that dual disc clutch set-up. My old 11" single disc isn't grabbing like it used to, maybe it's time to enter the 21st century??
I went the adapter plate route (also McLeod) onto my original Lakewood scatter shield so, I still use the mechanical linkage. The tech guy at McLeod, can't remember his name but its in the 6 speed tips, was a lot of help especially in getting the pilot bushing length right.
Gotta agree on the weight!! 135lbs for the T-56 vs. about 70lbs for a Muncie!! I think the front end dropped an inch (600lb springs!) when I added the 6 speed! I built a custom cradle for my floor jack but that thing is still a bear to get in (and out!). I'm glad I have a thirteen year old, gearhead son to help me now!!

It is a very high quality set up. I've been wanting buy this clutch set up for a while so I pulled the trigger last month. It's a bit pricy, but includes the flywheel and new clutch master so it wasn't too bad considering. But I also opted for the bell which made it a bit more pricy..LOL. I'm already glad I bought it and I haven't even driven the car yet.
The tech guy's name at McLeod is Billy. He was pretty helpful the couple of times I spoke with him.
And yes, this trans is a bear to get in and out. I made 5 studs out 3"X3/8" bolts. I screwed them into the bell so it would be easier to line up and install the trans. They worked great.
I may get out there tonight and see if I can get the master in. It's a tight fit in my car. I still have a few other things I want to address before I get the car out on the road again.

Unfortunately McLeod says I have to go easy on the clutch for 500 miles. That ain't gonna be easy...LOL.
I just have to bleed the master and I'm done. I'll be doing that tonight. It's been raining here for 4 or 5 days so I may not be able to drive it when I'm done.

I love the 6 speed. A stick is the only way to go for me in a "Hot Rod"...LOL. You don't see many manual shifted ProStreet cars around. My previous car, a blown, BBC, ProStreet 57 Chevy, was also a stick. People are always shocked to see the 6 speed in the Camaro when I have it out.
