I need to replace the rear springs in my 69 because the they are starting to sag. Which is better mulit leafe or mono? This car is a weekend cruiser and an ocasional drag racer. Which will give the best ride and hook up at the track?

This is my two cents.

My 68 suffered from the same rear sag. I called calvert racing and had them set me up with a set of split-mono leaf springs along with the caltrac bars and hardware.

It was a bit pricey, but I like how the car sits now.

I can't tell you about the ride quality (the car is still under construction).

3 leaf mutli's . . . monos are subject to wheel hop problems and 5 leaf multis are too stiff. I run five leafs and removed a leaf to make them 4 leaf - they are still a little stiff though.

try touching base with the guys that hang in the suspension forum, or try a search. David Posi should be able to recommend a spring rate that will be ball park. Maybe PDQ67 too . . . seems I remeber him talking about a source for the 3 leaf springs.

Our 69 Camaro:
Mono leafs with SSM bars.
60 Fts are in the 1.40`s. Looking for some 1.30`s with new slicks. No problems to report

I got my three leaf mono replacements and all the needed poly from good old JCWhitney.

Look under the '68 to '74 Nova three leaf mono replacement springs and tell them, (if you want poly), you want poly to match them for a mono leaf car.

That's what I did.

Good luck with your changeout and there is a bunch of stuff posted in the B&S section on this. Tricks on installing S/F/C's , how to take out the front spring hangers, how to press poly in the rear frame rails, etc... pdq67
