This is with 2.19 / 1.88's and "my own" pocket porting and professinal runner porting. [LIST] Intake .200=228cfm .300=231 .350=276 .400=282 .500=300 :D :D .600=228 .700=231 .750=234 .800=237 Exhaust .300=153 .400=183 .500=210 .600=228 ;) .700=237 .800=249 not bad for a cheap stock casting graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Those aren't too shabby. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Question on your number though... at .500'' lift you've got 300cfm, then at .600'' lift you wrote that you have 228. Then at higher lifts they are all again in the 2XX range. Is that a typo? It seems strange that this would be the case.

Hey, and where in Virginia are you?

It seems crazy to me too  but that's what's been said about these types heads that low lift is off da chain but high lift isn't good until JUMBO cam lifts. But low lift is where it's at anyway so I'm cool with that :D

yeah, that is impressive. graemlins/thumbsup.gif it will be interesting to see how they perform now. will this be a back to back type test or is this a new combo? also, have they been cc'd since the port work? curious as to how opened up they are. also, how many hours you figure you got into them? it's cool to see the old castings getting some good numbers, good luck!

It's a new combo!! But proven by my buds :D . I have a compressor at home but it's too small for the porting jobs so I did it on Saturdays that I had off. I would say 12hrs. My opinion small blocks need aftermarket heads for good power but with a big block you can get a long way with common castings as long as you watch the dollar amount!! graemlins/beers.gif By the way don't ever pay for pocket porting it's to easy to pay for it graemlins/waving.gif

I also have the 049 heads and my flow numbers would seem to counterdict the high lift low flow that you experienced.

283cfm @ .650 lift intake
198cfm @ .650 lift exhaust

These numbers were plotted from .100 lift and the flow continously increased to those numbers with a slight flattening beyond the peak lift. My numbers were approx 20cfm improvement over the stock heads and I only had 2.19/1.88 valves and ports gasket matched with a little runner clean-up.
