I have a th350 in my camaro right now thats about 650 hp. Its built and has a nice stall.. I was wondering before I spent more money on an adapter for my gear vendors unit. If it would be worth going to a th400 because I was thinking of blowing it or something later...

Will the th350 torque converter work on the 400 though?? I just dropped 800 on that.

My brother and i used to race and did not have to good of success with the 350 which was three total we then got a th400 and it is now in my Camaro.I dont think the converter will work..The Nova it was in went 10.40s with a 1.45 60 foot128 mph...

I would stay with the TH350. In stock form the 400 is definately stronger but the 350 can be built to handle the power. Plus the 350 is lighter and more efficient, which means more power to the tires. The TH350 and 400 use the same converter.

TH350 and TH400 will use the same converter...I have a built TH400 in my Camaro now...but I am also "only" pushing about 450hp...

The switch to a TH400 will cost more that just the tranny, though--you'll need a new crossmember, yoke, driveshaft, elcetric kickdown switches, new tranny cooler lines, etc...

yes the torque converter wil work between them unless you got a early tranny. where the 400 tranny had muilti pitch. you can check it by wires going in it 2 wires or 1 wire. 2 wires most likely muilti where 1 wire is regular pitch. 1 wire will work from a 400 to a 350 tranny. for torque converter wise.if you going to a blower i would go with a 400. but both trannies will need to be modified to handle it i hate you to spend money on something you need to handle hp later on.

I have the gear vendors overdrive unit but i have th400 adapted and its 500 for me to get the th350 adapter thats why I was wondering about the switch.

There shouldnt be electric kickdowns for the old 400's right?? Also are the cooler lines not the same thread because they should be close enough. I do all my lines myself and if they are a few inches off my lines would make it.
