I'm installing an X in my 1960 camaro. The car sits at stock height.

What is the closest distance(inches) that the "X" will fall after the collectors?

I plan on going with a 3"from the collector into the "x" then 2.5" out of the X to flowmasters. Do you think I will have any clearance problems (Speed bumps etc...)?

my build:

Block: Stock 1969 350 / 300hp block bored .30 over (355)
Heads: AFR 195cc CNC heads milled to 64.1cc for 10.325 compression
Valves: 2.02 Intake & 1.60 Exhaust, 3/8 Rocker Studs
Carburetor:Edelbrock 750 carb
Intake: Edelbrock RPM Air Gap Dual plane intake
Rockers:Crane Gold Race 1.5 Roller Rockers
Cam: Hydraulic - Comp Cam XE274 (230/236 @50, 487/490 Lift), 110 Lobe Separation
274/286 Advertised duration
Cam pulls from 2000 to 6000 rpms – it really comes in just under 2500rpm
Headers:Hooker Super Competion ceramic coated 1 ¾”. 3” collectors.
Exhaust:2.25” (which will soon be 2.5”) to 2.5” flow master mufflers to 2.5” tailpipes.
Tranny: Muncie m20 4spd
Rear End:4:10 posi traction rear
Rear Tire:26” tall tire
Ignition:Electronic Ignition
Timing: 14 degrees initial

Will accept any suggestions

Thanks
Tom

I'm currently installing the same setup - Dr Gas 3" into X, 2.5" out into magnaflows and flowmaster tailpipes. There's alot of adjustability and I don't see clearance as an issue. You , if you bought the kit, need to put the short legs into the X and do some trimming to get the correct spacing for the header collectors. In my case the spacing is 21" and I had to trim 1.5" off the short legs of the head pipes.

Flowmaster sell a ''american thunder''system for first gen camaros. Its 2.5 from the header back and comes with an h-pipe. It runs about 260. I used to have a x-pipe but I cant really tell a differance with the h-pipe. The kit comes with two 40 series two chamber mufflers and all the stuff to install it.

firstgen,
What type of build are you running?

Did you go from an ordinary exhaust to an X system and if so did you have any noticable gains?
